'Vergiftingen door afslankmedicatie verdubbeld'

"Dit jaar kwamen er bij het Nationaal Vergiftigingen Informatie Centrum (NVIC) in Utrecht al 105 meldingen binnen over vergiftigingen met afslankmedicatie. In 2024 lag dat getal in oktober nog op 55 (einde van het jaar op 75).

De vergiftigingen traden op na het gebruik van afslankmedicatie als Ozempic en Saxenda en gaan bijna allemaal over ‘misbruik’. Dat wil zeggen: mensen die de medicijnen zonder overleg met een arts gebruiken en de medicatie online of ‘via via’ hebben verkregen."

The reluctancy to give people #ADHD medication and "diet" medication makes even more sense if you look at the result of people getting these meds.

It is bad news for the stockmarket, not good for investors, apart from whoever may have invested in the companies that make these.

#Wegovy #Mounjaro, #Ozempic, #Saxenda etc, are not "diet medications", and we need to stop calling them that.

They are meds for people that lacks the signalling hormone that tells the brain "you are full". These meds fix that.

Why is this bad? Well, when you are in the business of selling food, people that have lost the ability to feel full when they should, are really good for your business.

Also, selling products that CAUSES this is also good for your business.

As for ADHD meds, getting your brain less busy so you can have better overview of spendings and plan more finanically sane, is not good for the stock market either, is it?

Before you oppose these meds, ask yourself where your intel came from.

GLP-1s like #Ozempic, #Saxenda, #Wegovy, or #Mounjaro are not an easy #weightloss hack.
