Sean Smith does an excellent job of recovering the #Buddhist arguments around non-self and the path in their review of MacKenzie.

"Since it lacks physical form, the mind can never be harmed by anything, but because it clings to the body it is oppressed by the body’s suffering."

"… whatever the ordinary mind conceives and whatever language expresses:

All such things, which thus become the object of thought and word, if examined, are found to be nonexistent.

They are empty like mirages and it is never possible for them to withstand analysis."

"‘[...] Meanwhile, the American still calls on the Good Lord to protect their ‘crusades’. Perhaps then,
we should leave the West and travel east. Could it be that there are moral lessons to be learnt from somewhere as distant as 8th-century India?"

This week I’ve been pretty focused on #Buddhist study & practice (& rearranging my bedroom, but the less said about that the better), but today I’m going to consciously relax a little more and play some Zelda! As #Santideva said in The Way of the Bodhisattva,

“But when your strength diminishes,
Put work aside to act again later.
Once it’s well done, leave it behind
Look forward to the next and later.”

Rest is also a part of practice.
