THE HERETIC
A kind of loneliness comes from being misunderstood by your family. My mother wants me to do Sandhya Vandanam. Chant the Gayatri Mantra. Face east. Fold my hands the right way. She wants a performance she can witness and take credit for. I understand this. I refuse to comply. I am too tired and too old for rebellion. I call it self-preservation, a refusal to hollow out what little interior life I have managed to build by filling it with someone else's beliefs. They call me a heretic.. a […]https://ridiculousbharath.wordpress.com/2026/05/13/the-heretic/
— The Error of Seeking —

At a certain point, the direction seems clear.
You are looking for something.
It may be called different things:
Enlightenment.
Mokṣa.
Self-realization.
Or something simpler:
Relief.
Clarity.
An end to confusion.
But the movement is the same:
You are seeking.

changes.
What sees it does not appear in the same way.

Up to this point in our series, the movement has been consistent.
Things are examined. Questioned. Set aside.
What is not stable is not held onto.
This process can continue.
You can set aside what is seen.
What is known.
What comes and goes.
But even when nothing in particular is being noticed, something remains...
— The Seer and the Seen —
* Next post in The Missing Step Series *
Up to this point, something has become clear.
Things can be observed:
Thoughts appear. They change. They pass.
Perceptions shift:
What is seen. What is heard. What is understood.
Even identity is not fixed:
It adjusts. Reforms. Reinterprets.
Now consider the other side...
