That moment when you want to upgrade your #Synology equipment but you can’t as you have users using it so you have to look for a downtime window?
All good, but it sucks when it’s a #selfhost equipment and the users are your family members -.-
The unit arrived today. Great smooth experience with the whole NAS to NAS migration. Updated the new unit to the same OS version and moved the drives.
The wizard detected the migration, made a quick restore process and everything was back as it was. Not a single setting, package or config needed to be altered. Advanced RMA was worth it. Total downtime with 2 follow up updates was 14 minutes. #synology #rs2423 #selfhosting #selfhosted #migration #disasterrecovery
Trying to update #synology #rs2423 to the latest #dsm72 but looks like I have an issue. Unable to update to 7.2.1-up5 due to the following error
If it’s the bootloader issue thing will be the first RMA ina long time. Thanks to extended warranty I get advance RMA options so the device will be delivered asap for a drive swap.
Should be a minimal downtime. Apart from this the NAS works just fine with no issues. Reluctant to do a reboot, device will probably not boot up, best to wait for support
