#Synology #NAS #quicktip No.28
@davidbures If you are in no immediate need, the new x25 models (2 bay all the way to 8bay) should arrive starting Q2/Q3 of this year. Last year was not the “update year" for many models as most arrived in x22 or x23 versions.
Depending on your needs you will have plenty to choose from but starting with x25, all models will only “officially" support #Synology drives. 3rd party will work but will not be supported (in terms of support and assistance). So, #HAT3300 or #HAT3310 for the most part.
In case anyone missed it... #Synology has expanded their line of #HAT3300 drives, by adding a 2TB version. Not sure why but there we have it.
Only 20€+/- less then the 4TB and from the same "class" of 5400 RPM.
While I have nothing against the drives, it would be nice to see a few more on the other side of the spectrum.
30KG worth of #Synology gear is on its way... Currently in Germany ;). Counting the days before the unboxing and testing begins!
#DP7400 #DataProtection #ActiveProtectManager #HAT3300 #backup
#Synology data migration for a client in progress...
New #DS1522plus with #NVMe usable volume, and 5x #HAT3300 for the “slow" storage space.
Trusty #DS414 will become a backup remote unit.
#HyperBackup with #rsync (single-file) will provide the fastest network transfer with the security of all data copied correctly.
