Tonight, I watched my old Reservoir Dogs VHS tape on a CRT television that was manufactured in 1989. The TV has a blown right speaker, so the audio was a touch lopsided. Picture quality of the 4:3 image was immaculate. The experience was, in two words, intoxicatingly glorious. Don’t get me wrong, I love 4K, but damn, I absolutely loved going back to the old days even just for a night.
