Q: Could Radagast Have Taught Skin-changing To The Beornings?

ANSWER: The relationship between Radagast and Beorn has led many fans to ask how close they were. In October 2024 a reader submitted this question:

Okay, after character creation we ended up with:

Dwarf Captain (Guide)
Beorning Champion (Hunter)
Hobbit Treasure Hunter (Scout)
Mirkwood Elf Warden (Look out)

And more importantly, they picked their patron: Radagast the Brown.

I’m doing a Darkening of Mirkwood based campaign.

Just finished watching the first two episodes of #LordOfTheRings: #TheRingsOfPower.
Quite enjoyable so far, though it feels like they are taking quite some liberties with the source material? Then again, I can't say I've read much of it myself.

Most of the discussion I've so far seen seems to suggest that #TheStranger is #Radagast (because of his interactions with the fireflies) or, more likely, #Gandalf (because of his association with fire), but perhaps it's one of the #BlueWizards, #Alatar or #Pallando, the #Istari we know so little about? Then again, I guess they would've arrived together.
