I brought my 3D printed guitar to the office and had a colleague tune it, and then we tried it with a proper sound system. It actually sounds great now.

After years of walking past the Prusacaster at Prusa Research every day, I finally decided to print my own - and it’s almost done! All the parts are printed (in gorgeous Prusament colors) and now I’m just waiting for the guitar hardware to arrive.
- Material: PLA …yeah PLA, but with robust settings (7 perimeters, 25% infill)
- Printers: Prusa XL and CORE One+
- Prusacaster: https://blog.prusa3d.com/the-prusacaster-how-to-design-and-3d-print-an-electric-guitar_71962/
I’ll keep you updated on the progress and, most importantly, how it plays in the end! 🎸
I now have all the leds installed and working in the 3d printed guitar! I’m hoping to do a full write-up with all the details soon!
TLDR: modded PrusaCaster, printed on a PrusaMk4 printer in @[email protected] Polylite Pro, custom PCBs from @JLCPCB holding the ws2812 rgb LEDs. Powered by WLED-SR running on an @adafruit Feather ESP32 V2

My kid has just uploaded an extended video of him playing his #3dPrinted #Prusacaster guitar over on YouTube - if you have a sec, he would love it if you could take a second to give him a like! Thanks! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnzKX9hs3V8

Just the pickguard left to print and then I can get to assembling!
