Legendary Television and AppleTV have pulled back the veil on their approach to using practical physical 3D-printed models in conjunction with their vfx in the making of season two of ***Monarch: Legacy of Monsters***

They say they have chosen to use physical models to inform the vfx and vice versa as well as to assist the directors and actors during production. For the enormous Titan X, they have created selected pieces of the creature’s body at full scale to illustrate texture and to inform production.

This new ‘behind the scenes’ featurette should be interesting to all those interested in the making of practical and virtual effects in addition to those watching the show (although there are spoilers).
