Das Fohnsdorfer Becken mal wieder gefüllt, wie in der Urzeiten. Vor 8 Millionen Jahren wäre das Becken aber mit einem seichten Meer und nicht Wolken gefüllt. 😁

Having just watched #Jaws for the first time in ages, I was stunned by the famous opening sequence ... but not by its cinematography or acting or editing - but by the never-ending chain of in-your-face #continuity errors in lighting once the girl enters the water: one moment we have a low Sun and a red sky, then we have the Sun near the zenith (with a day for night effect) then low again and so on, for several cycles.

Now https://www.andsoitbeginsfilms.com/2014/08/jaws-visual-essay-on-why-continuity.html argues that all this just doesn't matter because everything else is done so perfectly, but as an astronomer and avid nature observer I have to disagree: the total disregard for lighting continuity distracted me so much I was simply dazzled. And thought, WTF, #Spielberg, is there supposed to be some hidden message here? Well, there isn't.

(Once it's day, fortunately, this problem is gone, and a great movie unfolds, still fresh after 50 years. And I know, you shouldn't mess with a masterpiece, but Lucas added characters to Star Wars IV, and Cameron corrected a wrong star pattern in Titanic, so may be Spielberg could just, for an anniversary special edition ... o.k., I shut up. ;-)

Donc j'ai vu, et à peu près compris le succès de cette généreuse histoire... enfin, généreuse pour les êtres masculins, humains ou non-humains. Tous ces groupes, toutes ces foules sans femmes m'ont été irrespirables, et j'ai été écoeurée par le sort fait à la maman complètement dépassée, aux quelques écolières hurlant devant des grenouilles ou à la petite soeur priée de bien se tenir - même par le mec d'outre-espace à qui elle a appris à parler: "Be Good".

I watched E.T. (1982) recently. I remember seeing it as a kid but couldn't remember much except "phone home". I didn't like the child actors to be honest but the rubber puppet worked so well when it was lying on its "death bed" 😭

Surprised by the swear words they used though. Shit, dick....🫢 I wanted to see what the neighbourhood looks like today as it was a newly built suburbia in 1982. Turns out, somebody already did the research!
