The number of what I believe to be moths picked up by my critter cam is so wild! #moths #wildones #homegrownnationalpark #dougtallamy #pollinators #pollinatorsnators #pollinatorsWelcome #thatsnotrain

Oh my God, I found the bumblebees! There are dozens of them in my eastern crack-willow (Salix euxina). Its not blooming anymore, nor are there aphids on it so I wondered what on earth are they doing there.

But then I noticed there are some kind of dried liquid markings on the leaves and the bumblebees are licking them. It seems the leaves have for some reason pushed out some sugar which now is a buffet for the cuties

My pollinator-mix finally blooms! I wish there were more bumblebees and bees though. The visitors at the moment are mostly hoverflys. Don't get me wrong, I love the little helicopters, but I'm not sure how important pollinators they are

Front yard #critter roundup. #Bumblebees are clinging to the #zinnias. #HoneyBees are still around but they are up with the sunflowers, which are way taller than this mastodonian can reach. Little orange #moths just flittering around. #gardening #PollinatorsWelcome
Pollinators snoozing after a hard day of work. I love heading out in the early morning hours to take pics of them still asleep 🐝 #BloomScrolling #wednesday #gardening #zinnias #pollinatorsWelcome

Usually by this time of year this milkweed has been absolutely demolished by dozens of monarch caterpillars. This year I've only seen a single butterfly and this caterpillar. There must be more I'm not seeing but so far this year the weather seems to be in favour of the plant and not the insect.
