When I was out Christmas shopping, I decided to look at the tech department, and I was AMAZED to see that PC parts are being carried at Walmart.
They even had my desired CPU, but budget comes first with shopping like this.

RAM prices these days are pretty high. Last RAM I "purchased"* was a set of G.Skill 2x 16GB DDR5 6000 sticks (32GB total) which was priced at $149 back in Jan 2023.
I see that, today, the same set of RAM is currently priced at $349 on NewEgg. (This is the result of memory makers globally prioritizing specialized AI-industry-focused RAM over PC-level DDR memory.)
It was a recent Digital Foundry video warning / urging people that now is the time to buy a new GPU, given the RAM pricing crisis that got me thinking about this.
( * Those RAM sticks were free for me, thanks to buying certain upgrade items for my gaming PC physically in-store at Micro Center at the time. I'm sure they wouldn't be free today...)
