Cleared the CMOS of my machine (removed the battery and pressed the button a few times also), hopefully that addresses the random USB port shorting and related problems of the STRIX x670e (ALL variants) motherboard.
Sound and networking are addon since I couldn't be bothered with onboard "USB wiredless ethernet" and "USB AUDIO" (no input function), same for my graphics card showing up when using lsusb in the terminal (it's PCI-E, how the fuck?). #AMD #ROG #strix #motherboard #asusrog #problems

I'm still sad that I apparently damaged my old Asus Pro WS X570-ACE motherboard when removing the CPU (due to failed cooler). There aren't any good AM4 motherboards now. The gamer ones don't support ECC UDIMMs, and the cheap ones that do support ECC have poor PCIe configurations. I need 3 x8 PCIe slots.
I ended up with a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite. It supports ECC, and has 3 x16 slots, but the actual lanes to the x17 slots are x16, x4, and x1.
