Agi: Vola il gas: oltre 68 euro per megawattora

AGI - Il prezzo del gas apre in forte rialzo in Europa. Al TTF i future sul gas naturale hanno registrato un'impennata di oltre il 25%, superando i 68 euro per MWh e raggiungendo i livelli più alti degli ultimi tre anni, dopo che l'Iran ha sferrato attacchi contro infrastrutture energetiche chiave in tutto il Medio Oriente, intensificando i timori relativi all'approvvigionamento.
L'Iran ha effettuato attacchi missilistici contro la città industriale di Ras Laffan in Qatar, un complesso che ospita il più grande impianto di esportazione di GNL al mondo, uno dei numerosi impianti energetici che Teheran aveva promesso di prendere di mira in seguito a un attacco israeliano al giacimento di gas iraniano di South Pars. Anche Abu Dhabi ha sospeso le operazioni nei propri impianti di gas di Habshan dopo che i missili intercettati hanno causato la caduta di detriti, mentre gli impianti di GNL in Bahrain sarebbero stati colpiti da pesanti attacchi missilistici.
Impatto sullo stretto di Hormuz
Circa il 20% dei flussi globali di GNL passa attraverso lo Stretto di Hormuz, che è stato in gran parte chiuso dall'inizio della guerra con l'Iran. L'interruzione arriva proprio alla vigilia della stagione di stoccaggio della regione, con livelli già di circa 15 punti percentuali al di sotto della media quinquennale dopo un inverno più freddo.

AGI - Gas prices open sharply higher in Europe. On the TTF, futures for natural gas have recorded a surge of over 25%, exceeding €68 per MWh and reaching the highest levels in the last three years, after Iran launched attacks on key energy infrastructure across the Middle East, intensifying concerns about supply.

Iran launched missile attacks on the industrial city of Ras Laffan in Qatar, a complex that hosts the world’s largest LNG export facility, one of the many energy facilities that Tehran had promised to target following an Israeli attack on Iran’s South Pars gas field. Abu Dhabi has also suspended operations at its Habshan gas plants after intercepted missiles caused debris to fall, while LNG facilities in Bahrain were reportedly hit by heavy missile attacks.

Impact on the Strait of Hormuz
Approximately 20% of global LNG flows pass through the Strait of Hormuz, which has been largely closed since the beginning of the war with Iran. The disruption comes just ahead of the region’s storage season, with levels already around 15 percentage points below the five-year average after a colder winter.
