It is inasmuch as it is the standard plotline of the heroic businessman inventor for a whole bunch of 1930s/1940s #SciFi, such as E.E. Smith's "Skylark" series. Doc Savage is a non-SciFi example.
It's not good historical analysis, but old escapist pulp fiction plotline; from the same stable as colonizing Mars and hypertrains. At best, it is Spenglerian.
None of it came close to how the subsequent 90 years of history actually happened.
Because in dying the coming-to-be steps into view, and as the end approaches, this is ever more clearly seen, and hopes and intuitions are kindled in the soul as to the dawn that is about to break. And our soul must know that this entire becoming goes on in the great world, just as in the small world of organic life; and wherever something dies, something else will inevitably grow and fill up the empty place.
Every culture has its own new possibilities of expression, which arise, ripen and decay in its own way and never repeat themselves.
Non esiste #movimento #proletario, anzi nemmeno #comunista, che non agisca nell’interesse del #denaro, nella direzione desiderata dal denaro e entro i limiti assegnati dal denaro senza che gli #idealisti fra i #capi di tali #movimenti ne siano comunque #consapevoli.
