Krasinskis Palace, Opinogóra, Poland

The neo-Gothic palace in Opinogóra was built for Zygmunt Krasiński in the first half of the 19th century as a wedding gift (with Elżbieta Branicka) of General Władysław Krasiński. The palace - resembling a castle due to its neo-Gothic style - was used until 1843. Two years later it was extended, obtaining two additional salons on the north side.

Probably the castle (palace) was initially treated as a garden pavilion - after the expansion, guests were received there in the summer. A spacious manor house served as the main seat.

After the First World War, the damaged palace was provisionally secured. Further destruction took place during World War II, and devastation after the war.

In the years 1958-1961, it was rebuilt, its original form was restored and the Museum of Romanticism with a permanent exhibition devoted to Zygmunt Krasiński was established there.
