Made it back to my workplace of 10 years ago for their 10th annual NEON festival. NEON in this case stands for New Energy Of Norfolk (Virginia). Since I left there, the Chrysler Museum Glass Studio has expanded, tripling in size.
They still have their daily noon demos and my friends Heather Sutherland and @AbbeyfuckingDivens asked if I wanted to be a part of today's demo. I was able to test out their new manifold cart on wheels and with a microwave I picked up a the local thrift store, light up some blown glass work that Heather made all while hot.
Their new cart has a much nicer manifold than the one I put together over 10 years ago. The Amphitheater hotshop is also much nicer. The public and studio team were dazzled by my race agains the clock, "do it all while hot an clean" performance- all packaged up into an educational 1 hour demo. What fun!

I say this as someone who has read far too many of the BTL comments in said local rightwing rag during the Covid period.
Many roads were pedestrianised to enable outside eating.
There was outrage.
But it’s not as if people were actually allowed to park their cars on most of these streets before. There were double yellows.
The divide between #Norwich and #Norfolk is probably with the exception of #Cambridge and #Cambridgeshire the most extreme I’ve seen.
#Norwich is apparently the UK’s most stressful place to park according to headline in my local rightwing new rag.
Assume they polled mostly #Norfolk people.
- They rarely leave the county.
- They refuse to use park and ride - they’d rather create a traffic jam and sit in clouds of diesel fumes
- They’d hate the idea of their villages being clogged with visitors, yet they are quite happy to pollute the city
- They expect car parks to be within 100 yards of shops. They loathe pedestrianisation
Coastal erosion is dramatic and real in #Norfolk, particularly in #Hemsby.
Should estate agents be more honest about it? Until there is a government requirement to state the risk, they won’t. They don’t on anything. They believe that’s why you pay a solicitor to do searches.
But are they the villains here? What about those trying get a last gasp buck?
Expect more cases.
