Gerade das andersartige Worldbuilding ist einer der Sachen, die ich an High Fantasy mag.
Das ist ja auch das tolle an RPG-Setting-Bänden, nur dass das mit tollen Charakteren und schöner Story nochmal besser wird. Gerade die Möglichkeit in eine neue Welt einzutauchen und wieder diesen Sense of Wonder zu fühlen und sich überraschen zu lassen ist was tolles.
Positives Beispiel wäre Black Coast von #MikeBrooks (wenn auch eher Mid to Low Fantasy):

I enjoyed Mike Brooks's 'The God Breaker'. It's exemplary for its queer/gender representation, and nails its key mission, which is to tell a kick-ass, multi-thread, epic fantasy adventure story.

4/5: The concluding book of Mike Brooks' God-king chronicles, The God breaker is an entertaining epic fantasy that subverts a few of the genre's tropes. It's a sweeping, multi-perspective epic, but one in which some of the threads fail to connect at all at the conclusion, and in which the genre's usual offering of a dramatic, heroic, and violent solution to the problem of 'evil' is radically undercut. Brooks is also rigorous in his dedication to queer representation, and his questioning of gender norms, using his very plausible worldbuilding to explore those themes without needing to force them....
I’ve just dealt with the middle volume of Mike Brooks’ ‘God-King Chronicles’ series. Very entertaining, likeable characters, gripping plot, solid worldbuilding. I had a lot of fun reading it!
