Why are so many European microstates against abortion?

In Andorra and Liechtenstein, abortion is still banned. In Monaco, it is illegal to perform an abortion. San Marino is an exception: in 2022 abortion was finally legalised.

I still think the book of Wouter Veenendaal from 2015: Politics and Democracy in Microstates is the best publication until now for those who are curious about how Microstates operate. With all advantages like small scale democracy, but also all disadvantages like nepotism.

He travelled to San Marino, St. Kitts and Nevis, Palau and the Seychelles for the book.
