Spittlebug/Froghopper Nymph Emerging from its Goo
Every time I see spittle on a flower stem and have some type of magnification with me, I peek to see if I can see a spittle bug nymph emerge. It was more habit than hope, as I have never actually seen one. I was ecstatic when this guy made an appearance.

There is something appealing about nearly every animal in baby form. While I know that he emerged because the temperature cooled enough for him to leave his protective foam (made from plant sap he ingests), to me, he looks like he just finished his bubble bath and ready for the day's adventure.
