The new governance team has met for the first time this week. The agenda included onboarding new members, agreeing to another interim meeting this month to work through documents and processes for the next 18 month cycle, and passing a motion. A summary of the governance meeting is posted on the MapSwipe Slack channel after each meeting.

The governance team, elected by the community for 1,5 year, sets priorities, documents community decisions and supports coordination efforts including communications and monthly meetings.

Last week at Paléo Festival in Switzerland, visitors had a chance to discover #MapSwipe. Many of them took their first swipe, helped detect buildings and roads in Chad and Indonesia to support ongoing Missing Maps campaigns and even downloaded the app to keep contributing beyond the festival! 🚀

We have released a new project type on the crowdmapping app #MapSwipe!
MapSwipe now supports not only satellite images, but also street-level imagery. This new feature enables even mapping efforts that require the highest level of detail, such as detecting waste on the street.
