Arthur Verocai is the debut studio album by Brazilian composer Arthur Verocai, released by Continental Records in 1972.

Retrospective assessments of the album have been positive. Jason Ankeny of AllMusic awarded the album 4½ stars. Ankeny described the album as "fuse[ing] Brazilian tropicalia with American funk, yielding a shimmering, dreamlike mosaic of sound that both celebrates and advances the creative spirit."[6] Hip-hop producer Madlib considers the album to be among his favorites stating, "I could listen to this album everyday for the rest of my life". - Wikipedia

Father/son music day today, and this was my boy’s request while we do some work around the house.

This is my son’s newest obsession. It’s an album he’s been playing A LOT over the last month, and he was unaware that I had it on vinyl.

Which leads me to believe it will disappear from my collection and end up in his VERY SOON.

It’s an absolute masterpiece album; a modern #abstract #HipHop clinic with NO SKIPS, courtesy of the late great MF DOOM and Madlib.

Glad that my son has finally started to sink his teeth (and mind) into it.

A few years ago, I took him and a few of his friends to the MOPOP Museum in Seattle, where they had the mask on display in a glass case inside the hiphop exhibit. He had no idea what it was, who Doom was, and was instantly mystified.
