Aurin (ki, ki, kis)And what gets me the most is that even therapy is like... worse than the unavoidable level of trauma. In large part BECAUSE they refuse to acknowledge it or let you acknowledge it! They don't let you say that you're not safe. They don't let you face what truly traumatises and abuses you currently. For many people, they don't even let you face past traumas or cut off contact with people who have raped you in the past (if they are family).
It's so crazy-making. It's just an environment of gaslighting. Pretending like the status quo of society is non-traumatising and that if you are mentally ill, YOU need to get fixed is gaslighting and it is abuse. It's like telling an abused child they need to do better, instead of holding the abusers (whether that's peers, teachers, parents, whoever) accountable. But therapy exists as a buffer to protect those that make us crazy from our wrath by diverting our attention and energies into harmless outlets and self-improvement strategies. Harmless to the powers that be, that is. Not harmless to the patients.
And if that doesn't work, we get locked up.

Father/son music day today, and this was my boy’s request while we do some work around the house.
This is my son’s newest obsession. It’s an album he’s been playing A LOT over the last month, and he was unaware that I had it on vinyl.
Which leads me to believe it will disappear from my collection and end up in his VERY SOON.
It’s an absolute masterpiece album; a modern #abstract #HipHop clinic with NO SKIPS, courtesy of the late great MF DOOM and Madlib.
Glad that my son has finally started to sink his teeth (and mind) into it.
A few years ago, I took him and a few of his friends to the MOPOP Museum in Seattle, where they had the mask on display in a glass case inside the hiphop exhibit. He had no idea what it was, who Doom was, and was instantly mystified.
