Bluefin CLI for Mac and Windows | Bluefin

We like to say "The command line is our passion. Therefore we invest in the command line experience, knowing that most people will never see it." Sounds grandiose! Bluefin CLI is a a terminal experience designed around shipping a new "default terminal experience" with modern tools. But it also has things like the just task runner, making the community shared aliases and shortcuts easy. And that just lets the good stuff float to the top.

My recommendations for #Tails for additonal pre installed software.

#Dangerzone

#Signal better Signal Beta

#Warp https://flathub.org/en/apps/app.drey.Warp

#Deltachat end of this year with #autocryptv2

#Age https://github.com/FiloSottile/age

And #homebrew/ #linuxbrew

#tor

Install Warp on Linux | Flathub

Fast and secure file transfer

Trying an experiment by using Linuxbrew (Homebrew for Linux) instead of apt to install the typical packages I would use on a Raspberry Pi OS (Debian Trixie 13.2) operating system load.

I have been using Homebrew on my Mac system so I'm familiar with it, and I've had enough apt glitches which are mysterious to debug that having another package manager seems like a reasonable option. And if something doesn't quite work out of the box on this the stakes are low and it's a chance to improve something.

#linuxbrew

Sucks that Hyprland is such a resource hog on my old Macbook Pro. Just nuked a distro, installed @system76 Cosmic OS and it's whisper quiet with a few apps open. This is an awesome beta! I even installed #linuxbrew Homebrew for Linux

https://tails.net/doc/persistent_storage/additional_software/dangerzone/index.en.html Wouldn't it be much more secure and easier to just include #Homebrew? #Linuxbrew for #Tails. And create a Brew version of #Dangerzone so people can just install it on the fly, and maybe other tools too, especially for example when they just want to use it live without persistence or even with? Brew's base installation appears to be 106 MB or something.

🤔 I mean #secureblue also has it pre-installed? Just thinking 🤷

Tails - Converting dangerous documents to safe PDFs using Dangerzone

In general there should be much more linux compatible #brew #homebrew #linuxbrew packages that package manager is very cool #imho more projects should opt in to also provide their stuff also in this 🤷 hephaest0s #usbkill , #bleachbit #dangerzonerdotocks currently only macos cask #signal currently also only as macos cask , #fawkes , #screenkey #keyviz #metadatacleaner etc. etc.

#tails should also implement like #secureblue #linuxbrew it might come handy just thinkin #tor

Modern Package Management Features: Homebrew leverages modern distribution methods (like OCI artifacts and GitHub Packages), supports aggressive updates, and is integrating advanced security features such as SLSA build level 2 and sigstore integration. These features enhance both usability and security for end-users.

Of course one disables first

brew analytics off

Ok yt-dlp, lynis, htop, vim, chkrootkit, rkhunter, mat2(hangs though) can be installed via #brew #linuxbrew it's sad that dangerzone is missing there mhh… only for macos as a cask.

Signal works after enabling flathub beta repos

flatpak override --user --env=SIGNAL_PASSWORD_STORE=gnome-libsecret org.signal.Signal

flatpak override --user --env=ELECTRON_OZONE_PLATFORM_HINT=auto org.signal.Signal

Then it works

Damn it, cannot recommend #linuxbrew ...

Already have beef with it because last time it causes Flatpak to have no network because Flatpak accidentally referenced Linuxbrew packages... it seems to be happening again with Linuxbrew installation of Python caused anthy (Japanese input method) to not working...
