Ochlodes sylvanus on ribwort plantain. So far one of the very few butterfly species are relying on this plant in my area, despite this plant popping up everywhere and most German field guides highlighting its importance, those being T. sylvestris, T. lineola, C. pamphilus and C. arcania. O. sylvanus, on the other hand, seldom feeds on it. M. athalia, a rather new species within my study area, currently avoids it, as no eggs or caterpillars have been discovered, so far.

I've been trying to identify this #butterfly or #moth , seen on my kitchen window in Southwest England in late July.

I reckon possibly a #LargeSkipper - can any #entomologist improve on that identification?

Once upon a time, a Large.Skipper visited me in my garden. #largeskipper #moth
