The #BBC was not #antifascist. On #ThisDayInHistory in 1938 #JoachimVonRibbentrop was on a visit to Britain to ensure #appeasement continued, when he met with the Beeb's director #JohnReith. Reith, an ardent admirer of #Hitler & #Nazism, offered to fly the #swastika over BBC HQ.

Unfortunately the #bbc has form in these matters. Speakers too critical of #germany were kept off the air through much of the 1930s in the days of the sainted #johnreith .
