One would think there were no problems for me growing up in an individualist society which values "speaking your mind" (And boy, Germans can be so proud of this attitude), but somehow my parents' culture of being considerate of others seeped into my personality and I really had, and I guess, I still have a hard time finding my way.

Sure, code switching is a thing, but I'm resenting this whole "just tell me honestly" approach.
