Laptop Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon (7th Gen) als refurbished Gerät 2023 gekauft. Akku hielt mal noch 2 Std. Anfang der Woche war der Akku dann tot. Ersatzteil bestellt und eingebaut. Nach vollladen, komplett entladen und erneut voll aufladen zeigt die Energiestatistik erfreuliche 10 Stunden Restlaufzeit. Wenn das real nur 5 Std. sind wäre das super

Super techy fix:

- Rinsed out spilled coffee in sink w tap water (Dio's Risky Behavior)

- Flinging it around like a weirdo and spraying my kitchen w water (Weaponized Keyboard)

- Took off keys and switches (Dissectual Healing)

- Hair dryer! (Keyboard got a blow out, ha ha)

- Heated blankie for like 6 hours (Snuggle the Bby)

- Replace switches & test (Bleep bloop)

- Uhm ah replace the switches I rage forced w not bent ones (Dio Planned Violence)

- Pop keys back on (Pop pop)

.....aaaaaand win!

I've had an iPhone since there were iPhones and TIL that you can roll back your contacts to an earlier version of your contacts if you keep them in the cloud.

This is very handy if you get a little overzealous with "remove duplicates" and somehow your sister (and her four phone numbers) is no longer in your address book. #IFixedIt

You can sort of see that the clip is cracked where it squeezes the boom. Cello tape around the boom worked for several years but it eventually cracked enough that the hack stopped hacking. But Heil has service parts and radioworld.ca can get them. Got two so I will have one again in 15-20 years.

The regulator on my mig welder was leaking gas, and a soap bubble test showed it was from the gauge. I initially figured that it was going to be too hard to fix, and ordered a cheapo replacement on aliexpress.
Problem was that I didn't pay attention to the fittings and it came with a female connector when I needed male. Male-male converters don't seem to be a thing for mig gas fittings, so I decided to have a look at fixing the original one.
Pulling it apart revealed that there was a small crack in a soldered joint--it looked like it had probably been like that since it was new, which explains why I've been going through gas at such a rapid pace. So got the propane torch out and reflowed the solder and I'll be buggered, the leak is fixed. #IFixedIt #DIY

Achtung aufgepasst beim Entkalken von Nespresso Maschinen. Ich wollte es besonders gut machen und habe 3 Durchläufe zum Entkalken gemacht. Das hat die thermische Sicherung auf der Pumpe zerstört. Maschine kaputt.
Das Video https://youtu.be/kb1JZ-VIoY4?si=Db_JpTlMdZOJ4_xz hat mir gezeigt, was kaputt ist. Zum Flicken habe ich einen Ovalsteckschlüssel (€ 3) und eine neue thermische Sicherung (£ 1) gekauft + 2x internationales Porto. Jetzt läuft sie wieder. 2 kg E-Müll gespart.

foot pedal of the second machine was not working

250 k variable resistor resistor replaced (the black part).

Main problem 1:

How to open the case of that pedal
(brute, but careful, force)

Main problem 2:

Not the sliding (special) potentiometer was broken, but another part. No idea, why. The 250 kOhm were.... gone...
Luckily, my parts' storage had exactly one exactly fitting spare part.
✅️ unsoldered, replaced, reassembled.
✅️ works
