tvOS 26 potwierdza zmianę nazwy z „HomeKit” na „Apple Home”

W 5. wersji beta tvOS 26 Apple zmieniło w aplikacji Ustawienia na Apple TV wszystkie odniesienia do „HomeKit” na bardziej ogólne „Apple Home”.

Przykładowo, menu „AirPlay and HomeKit” zostało przemianowane na „AirPlay and Apple Home” Różnica jest istotna:

HomeKit to techniczna nazwa frameworku inteligentnego domu Apple, istniejącego od 2014 roku.
Taką nazwę otrzymują też urządzenia objęte certyfikacją, a zmiana oznacza de facto zmianę opakowań większości producentów na rynku (chodzi o znaczek certyfikacji).
Apple Home to nazwa całego ekosystemu i aplikacji smart home.

Zmiana może oznaczać, że Apple powoli wycofuje markę HomeKit, stawiając na prostsze i bardziej rozpoznawalne Apple Home. To byłoby logiczne, zwłaszcza w kontekście planowanego debiutu nowego domowego huba Apple, który może nazywać się HomePad.

Na razie oba terminy funkcjonują równolegle na różnych platformach Apple, ale możliwe, że w przyszłości HomeKit zostanie całkowicie zastąpione przez Apple Home dla lepszej spójności marki.
