You know? I forgot how much I enjoy a simple Martini. It's clear, cold and oh so very dry.

The world may be headed somewhere in a handbasket but in my mind I'm just hanging with Nick, Nora and Asta, enjoying a drink or two before dinner.

Turns out the book I've been needing involves charismatic robot friends making perfect noodles and building community in a future post-war San Francisco. I browsed Kepler's Books in Menlo Park while listening to the end of the audiobook. Just after it finished, I found myself in front of some signed hardcover copies. Since Automatic Noodles by @annaleen is my new favorite cheering-up book, I bought that as well. Highly recommended! #bookstodon #scifi #BiangBiangNoodles #HappyPlace

It’s a beautiful day here. The cottage garden border is going wild - just the way I like it. The native verbenas are incredibly tall and a real #pollinator magnet. I keep pulling them up and moving them to the back but more just keep coming! Hoping the pink Gaura will grow bit taller as it flowers this year, so we can see it over everything else. Looking forward to giving the shrub #rose its first proper prune this winter/spring as it’s very dense.
