The start of Heat 1 of the Mixed Race at yesterday’s ‘secret’ regatta, held to mark the birthday of Fowey boat-building legend Maurice Hunkin. My crew in Q are fastest off the line, and that’s where we stayed until the end of the race! 🏆🥇#gigrowing #Cornwall

A little more about us. Both Mrs OSC and I are members of a Cornish Pilot Gig club. Pilot gigs are 32ft wooden rowing boats powered by 6 crew and helmed by a coxswain. We've both competed for years and once, pre children when we were fit and keen, we both came in the top 10 crews in the world in our respective ladies + mens competitions. Times are different now, but we spend our Sat mornings enjoying being on the water. I'll post more soon about these historic and traditional craft. #gigrowing
