My wife wants me to run an rpg based on the Locked Tomb series. First thing to come to mind would be to adapt Thirsty Sword Lesbians. But what other suggestions do people have?

Rereading this and the scene where Harrow is siphoning Gideon in order to get through the double-layered wards, and you hear (the person pretending to be) Dulcinea talking to Gideon, that's a very honest moment for Cytherea (who is pretending to be Dulcinea) I think, and some insight into how she really feels and her true motivations for what she's trying to do. I can see why the Emporer speaks of her so highly, even though she betrayed and tried to kill him.

Also it's pretty cool that a character like Dulcinea/Cytherea is featured in the story, who is disabled and sickly and supposedly dying, and this has a real impact on what she can do, but she's also still brilliant and a formidable adversary when revealed at the end.

The book itself has plenty of gothic horror elements but there's much levity as well. And the rivalry/enmity between Harrow and Gideon is fantastic, so much tension, you really want to see them come together.

I think I need to put into my talk this line that keeps running through my head

So many leaders want people to trust them, which is exactly backwards

In organizations, positions are typically appointed through the hierarchy and authority of the organization. However, like trust, "leadership" is earned: slowly built and quickly lost.

Asking how to earn trust means admitting you have failed, and more importantly means committing to a change. If you don't uphold those changed behaviors, you will simply lose trust again and consequently fail as a leader no matter how the organization helps you fail upwards.

If you ever need a reminder how fucking dangerous Camilla hect is remember as a character with no necromancy or other special powers she took on a LYCTOR with centuries more experience than her basically solo and managed to hold her off for quite a while, not only surviving but walking away with all her limbs intact.

With only two knives and a grudge no less.
