β―PumpkinπProleπ#Gideon didn't even kiss any of the cute necromancers or cavaliers wtf. she realistically sacrificed herself for her bully friend as a virgin. now I just have to follow this up with some self-hating bully feeling sorry for herself for absorbing the soul of her only peer/the best character out of the ninth house.
furthermore, the cryptic note and her origins on the ninth planet are left unexplained so now I'm continuing in the hope that the mystery gets resolved instead of just being a useful cliche for a fantasy protagonist who's now effectively dead.
Frigid Crystal Tormented WrathIf you ever need a reminder how fucking dangerous Camilla hect is remember as a character with no necromancy or other special powers she took on a LYCTOR with centuries more experience than her basically solo and managed to hold her off for quite a while, not only surviving but walking away with all her limbs intact.
With only two knives and a grudge no less.

I think I double checked to see if they said anything about KG's hair length but I love a good hair-style-as-symbolism so sue me :b
two things I love about the locked tomb:
(1) each book in the series (so far) significantly expands the setting, which is a pretty impressive feat of world building (2) Tamsyn Muir loves a story where the POV character has no idea what's going on
these two things add up to giving some of that first-book goodness even in the sequels which I really love.
i also think TM takes an adversarial relationship with their readers which I am a big proponent of. confusion and uncertainty is a valid emotion lmao
I'm, uh, making a #LockedTomb scarf. Not that the pattern or the yarn is specifically locked tomb referential but it's purple and black and I'm adding some gold sparkle and it's got skulls so it's locked tomb for me.
