The #internet has something like that going on.
I try to read the #Mastodon #federated feed and the result is a million different ideas all at the same time. Well, to my fragile #human #cognition that's *extremely disordered thinking.*
I personally know too much #Facebook does weird things to the #psyche, and so I gave that up years ago, but sadly I'm kinda seeing another sort of weird thing happening with Mastodon.
That federated feed is going to be a jumble of disconnected ideas. What will happen to my poor little psyche if I tried viewing it for a few hours or days?
I assume social media is still in it's infancy, and so I hope with an atheists prayer that it eventually evolves to be an effective tool for global working-class democracy and justice.
Meaning is distorted by social media. Perceptions are distorted by social media. How rational people reconcile the downsides of social media will be in the hands of future generations.
