The South Tyrolean, world number two and seed, defeated Russian Daniil Medvedev, ATP ranking number 11, in the final with a score of 7-6 (6), 7-6 (4) in just under two hours of play. Under the scorching California sun, with temperatures around 33 degrees Celsius, Sinner battled and “tamed” the rival, who had come off the impressive victory in the semi-final against Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.
