Cellists:

1. Take all your credit cards and put them in a baggie.

2. Fill the baggie with water.

3. Put the baggie in the freezer. This may save you some money in step 5.

4. Wait for the baggie to be frozen solid.

5. Go to https://yuriyleonovich.com/sheet-music-store

A vast collection of cello music. All in PDF format, all incredibly reasonably priced. If you are a forScore (https://forscore.co) user like me, being able to get high-quality sheet music in PDF form is fantastic.

Yuriy Leonovich - Sheet Music Store

Store for Yuriy Leonovich, from Greenville

Sheet music publishers are missing out on potential income. Tech books publishers like Pragmatic Press or No Starch have for years offered titles in print form, digitally, or both—usually at a discount.

If the major (and minor) publishers of music offered print and digital version of their catalog, I'd be inclined to get both. I'm using forScore for nearly all my music (violoncello and mandolin) these days.

While I can (and do) scan music and save it as PDFs to use in forScore, it would be lovely to not have to.

#MuseScore just feels really awkward and I can't put my finger on why. Useful for converting random formats to PDF's though.

#forScore seems to be more for performing than composition, I still need to try it with my page turning peddle, but it does allow me to annotate PDF's. Doesn't seem to let me import #guitar #tabs in random ascii formats though.

Any other suggestions I should try?

Musician friends, does this happen to you? You AirDrop a new version of a score into ForScore @forscore but keep getting incremental duplicates instead of an option to overwrite your existing score? This has baffled me for a long time -- but now I think I've figured out a solution that works for me -- see here:

@danfairs It's the Nashville number's system, and I use an app called 1Chart to create my charts, after which I drop them into #ForScore

Hallo Leute,

Feature in #ForScore I just started using because OMG: pulling up a chart can send midi program change messages, AND you can create buttons to send them too! On the right is the control surface I created using an app called Loopy Pro. This is great on the fly, but when we play certain songs and you need *that* sound, it's amazing to have the rig switch to the right sound, or be able to fire that sound when you need it with the button!

forScore 14.4

Check out the list of features in forScore 14.4. As usual, I am exited about the automation. Automation is becoming increasingly popular, and forScore lets you do a lot using the Shortcuts app. With forScore 14.4, we’ve added dozens of new actions for working with metadata, setlist entries, duplicating items and setlists, cropping, and more. Between this and family sharing, forScore 14.4 is looking to be a great update.
