Developer, mostly python, wannabe Rustacean. Occasionally musical, often requires a kick in the motivations
Fishing for popcorn is rather fun
Sat in the garden having five minutes before the next job. It's nice to be able to get outside again

So a small thing on #AI #llm code generation.

Something I’ve actually found it useful for, and feel comfortable using it for, is throwing together quick throwaway tooling for testing or debugging. Last night I was chasing down an issue in some #MQTT messages and being able to throw together a quick TUI that filtered out the noise to find just what I was looking for was very useful.

If I was ever going to turn that tool into something more permanent I’d rewrite it though.

🩸 Completed my fifth blood donation. Totally doable, even with my general fear of needles.

Having a videogame music day. Bit of Subnautica Below Zero earlier, Settlers 2 now.

It would be nice if the Rust derived Debug trait had a way to ignore fields, rather than having to implement it manually and skip the field thats causing issues.

This morning I've fought a water butt joining kit, which was junk. Went and got another one, some backup epoxy and some extra PTFE tape just in case.

Right now the sealent is setting on the larger water butt, and once thats done I can pump the water from the smaller one into it and then do the same on that one.

Slowly getting to the point of only using rain water for irrigating the garden automatically.

Messing about in Diesel for a Rust project again. dsync makes it a lot easier to work with, but I wish it could have validated the cargo.toml file for all the features and libraries it needed for the generated files. Would have saved me 20 minutes.

Lunch sat in the garden. First time this year!

Managed a bit of mindful weeding in the garden this lunchtime. It's very peaceful in the sun just working across the beds. Still lots to do.
