An animal flies out of its hole!

Today's 3D scene is based on some insect or small animal. One that can fly. It could be a bee or a bat. Meet him. This friend lives in a cave. And he's just about to fly out. See what's new while he was sleeping in his hole.

My EAA Chapter had a very successful first Fly Out to Portage for their Fly In (C47). It was the busiest non-towered traffic pattern I've ever been in, with the added challenge that we were landing 36 and you really only could back taxi. So we'd pile up four aircraft at the end and taxi back in formation.

Really cool day, I'm glad some of my chapter members joined me so I didn't feel like a dork having a one man fly out. I'm sad I had to rent an aircraft but grateful I had a backup option when mine went down for maintenance.

My proposal to the board to do four Fly Outs this year, with me as the flight leader, has been approved! EAA 41 is officially doing Fly Outs again! First up is May 25th, heading to Portage, WI (C47) to support EAA 371 chapter 's pancake breakfast and car show. They've recently had to fight to keep their airport open and that's a cause I can get behind. If you're in the area, come say hello (and show your support)!
