Operação em ferryboat surpreende com mais de 38 mil passageiros

Visando o ordenamento do fluxo de veículos e passageiros que utilizam o transporte aquaviário, com foco, também, em garantir mais segurança e fluidez na travessia do sistema de ferryboat, o governo do Maranhão, por meio da Secretaria de Estado de Governo (Segov), realizou a Operação Corpus Christi 2026 nos terminais da Ponta da Espera e do Cujupe, entre os dias 1º e 10 de junho de 2026.

Com regras específicas para diferentes períodos e percursos, visando à redução do tempo de espera nas filas e à garantia de maior fluidez no atendimento ao público, a operação registrou mais de 38 mil passageiros durante todo o período.

No total, foram 38,4 mil passageiros transportados e 1,64 mil motos embarcadas, em 187 viagens realizadas – uma média de 205 passageiros por viagem.

Para garantir segurança e controle do tráfego, a operação foi realizada pela Segov em parceria com: a Empresa Maranhense de Administração Portuária (Emap), o Corpo de Bombeiros Militar do Maranhão (CBMMA), a Polícia Militar do Maranhão (PMMA) e a Marinha do Brasil, por meio da Capitania dos Portos do Maranhão (CP-MA).

“Com o cumprimento rigoroso da capacidade das embarcações e possibilitando um fluxo contínuo das viagens durante todos os dez dias, tivemos novamente êxito em mais uma grande operação no transporte aquaviário, por meio da atuação eficaz do governo do Estado e da Segov”, destacou Bruno Mota, coordenador de operação de ferrys na Segov.

Ellis Island is an island in New York Harbor, within the U.S. states of New Jersey and New York. Owned by the U.S. government, Ellis Island was once the busiest immigrant inspection and processing station in the United States. From 1892 to 1954, nearly 12 million immigrants arriving at the Port of New York and New Jersey were processed there; as many as two-fifths of Americans may be descended from these immigrants. It has been part of the Statue of Liberty National Monument since 1965 and is accessible to the public only by ferry. The north side of the island is a national museum of immigration, while the south side of the island, including the Ellis Island Immigrant Hospital, is open to the public through guided tours.

Views from inside the MV Puyallup. Of the two ferries that have served this route over the last couple of decades I prefer the Spokane. Its internal fittings and design is a little more classic.

Off to #Holyhead today seen from the port of #Dublin, after a sparrowfart start from #Kerry, arriving far too early at the port and then being told the ferry was 2.5 hours 🫩
Once we get to the other side, a mere 3.5 hour drive, all being well on the hopefully snowfree roads of North Wales, to our destination near Birmingham.
