one of these days I might finally learn how to clean a monitor. that day is not today.
tried alcohol, soapy water, some chlorine mix, wet wipes, every time the same crap... can you tell by these pictures which is the dirty one and which is "clean"? I sure can't, though I got the dirty rag to prove the work.
when the screen is lit, it's not noticeable. still, I'd like to possess that arcane skill...

found a buncha DVD, 50+ for sure, but left them; got no use for em as movies are practically free online.
the food I took. some mushrooms I've never head of, "lion's mane"...? some fresh pastry (left 5x that behind for someone else to enjoy). some sauerkraut, again left a bunch. various other stuff. have to stop hoarding any bit of grub, need to lose like 20 kilos post haste.
so, who knows what's working, hopefully I can use some of the parts. quick clean, reassemble and... yeah, the thing works as is, no need to repair or tweak nothing.
pisses me off, throwing away perfectly usable hardware and being so brash about it - the dent at the top is from the way it was thrown in the dumpster. coulda just put it next to it...
never serviced (dust & paste), never upgraded... this is a thing made outta individual COMPONENTS - if something breaks, you swap out the broken thing. if it's slow, you UPGRADE it!
like, this thing can take a $5 quad-core. add some $20 RX graphics and 8 GB RAM, it will rock any games up to 2020 titles, no sweat.
thought about upgrading my desktop, but this doesn't have USB 3.0 nor SATA3, so not much of an upgrade from my H55. gonna figure out if I'm gonna replace my debian core2 duo home server with it or sell it for parts

found another desktop PC, this is the fifth I think.
already knew this won't be the freshest of the fresh as no USB ports on the back were blue. should be OK though, H61 means sandybridge - def newer than my 2009 desktop and 2007 server.
sadly, just a G2030 Pentium, with 2x 2 GB RAM and Nvidia GT210; the PSU is OK, though. I'm thinking this was too slow for games and got dumped for something new. I sold an i5-2320 CPU a few days back, coulda been a solid upgrade... eh, my ISP wants money every month, no sense in dwelling on it
