Well, what do you know… corporate #Grifters are at it again. #Greedflation is lining up to bat again.

Profit push is back: the increase in inflation is due to profits

New analysis of the national accounts reveals that all of the increase in inflation in the latter half of 2025 was due to increased profits, rather than inflationary pressures from a tight labour market or rising labour costs

@VanuPhantom @awoo that was in 2019.

Obviously with #Greedflation kicking in on consumer pricing, rent, energy, etc. I'd say €48k p.a. would be more adequate.

And, of course, at the first wiff of a tax on gas exports, wouldn’t you know it, the #GasGrifters are predicting the sky will fall.

“…the gas industry’s peak representative body, Australian Energy Producers, said a 25% levy against its exports would come at the “worst possible time for Australia’s economy and energy security … Imposing higher taxes on Australian gas producers would stop investment in new gas supply, leading to gas shortfalls, higher energy prices, and the closure of Australian industries that rely on reliable and affordable gas,” AEP’s chief executive officer Samantha McCulloch said.”

What utter BS. Once again, just for those who aren’t listening: There Is No Shortage Of Gas In Australia! And, yes, AUstralians are paying export prices for their domestic gas supplies (which translates into increased cost for many thing, including electricity). And NO, we don’t need more investments into new wells, we’ve Got Too Many for just domestic consumtion anyway.
