BUT ... this is why we've adventured in #Greyhawk for 30 years. Most of the campaign setting *is not* documented.

Sure, it's nice when you can pull out a source book (or a #DragonMagazine) that details a particular place, but it's also great to just freestyle and create your own iteration of a place.

Found an even earlier reference to measuring #miniatures by eye height in the November 1979 issue of #DragonMagazine. It's also the earliest article I've found that describes "six feet" as the average soldier height.
This Old Dragon: Issue #85
This issue of Dragon is quite memorable to me. It was the very first issue I ever bought. Sure, I had read Dragon lots before this, but this one was the first.

This Old Dragon: Issue #124
August of 1987 was a transitional time. Both for me (headed off to University) and for Dragon and AD&D. While the years between 1st and 2nd editions are sometimes downplayed, they did produce some good material.

In Search Of...Ramal LaMarr
In 1985, Dragon Magazine ran ads for belly dance LPs marketed as “Music for Adventure Gaming.”
For years, I wondered: Who was Ramal LaMarr?
After a lot of digging, I finally found the answer.

Oh, I never realized "The Gnome Cache" in early Dragons was Gary Gygax's writing ("Garrison Ernst" oh obvs=EG). It was *dreadful*, so maybe I should've, but yow. There were also good stories by Gardner Fox, actual Fritz Leiber(!!!), etc.

Ich glaube, eine Runde Dragon Magazin ist jetzt genau das Richtige für die Feiertagssaison. Hab ich bock drauf.

The month I began playing #DnD (December 1983), #DragonMagazine published a mildly-mathematical article asserting #ADnD coins must therefore be approximately the size of an Eisenhower dollar coin. This conclusion also amused me, and I never forgot it.
