Not sure if the people of Interac are on the Fedi, buttttt it would be great if you offered a credit card alternative to Visa and Mastercard.

Like the European EPI.

Or, even maybe joining the EPI.

@EUCommission All this sounds good but until true action is taken to protect privacy (totally abolishing the possibility of #ChatControl even if renamed with a new euphemism, kneecapping #BigTech firms and publicly funding their replacements with open source alternatives) this comes across as just PR and deception. #DigitalSoverignity

@EUCommission

I am not an expert on this topic, but it appears that the EU commission is not really doing anything about malfeasance by the US monopolies. Justice delayed is justice denied. The fines are less than their profits. X booted you from advertising, you should have responded by banning them in Europe. You appear feckless.

I am very glad that at least you have a presence on the Fediverse. I hope this feedback does not scare you away.

Open Rights Group are supporting Siân Berry's MPs EDM calling on the government to reduce its reliance on US tech companies. If you are in the UK, can you write to your MP asking them to support this EDM. Protect Britain’s Digital Backbone — Ask Your MP to Act

Take action! What’s the problem? The UK’s digital backbone. The cloud services, data systems, and platforms that underpin government, public services, and democratic processes is dangerously reliant on a small number of foreign tech companies. Much of this critical digital infrastructure is controlled by US-based firms such as Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Palantir, whose services are embedded across government and the public sector. Other key providers are based in Israel and China. Together, these companies operate systems that are essential to how the UK state functions day to day.
