Got a response last week 🥳

TLDR: promised rail improvements don't seem to be completely off the table but I'm not sure what to think about the "boosting competition" part for tickets.
Wouldn't that fracture the market even more and make ticket buying more of a pain?

Anyways, the #eucommission is scheduled to propose a new legislative package focused on rail tomorrow, so we should know more about all of this fairly soon.
I'm glad #EuropeanRail seems to be getting more attention again :)

#EUCommission’s malignant tactics exposed:
“The seeming attempt to limit the ability of the co-legislators to make changes to the text also limited the Parliament’s and Council’s democratic right to scrutinise and amend the Commission’s proposal – which seems to have been a key factor in what went wrong.”

Did the EU Parliament really vote not to protect children online? - European Digital Rights (EDRi)

In April 2026, negotiations on the ‘interim ePrivacy derogation’ fell apart, with several stakeholders claiming that the European Parliament stopped the EU from protecting children.

@EUCommission Could you please look into this?

The idea that Europeans should be required to own devices controlled by US companies under US jurisdiction with what amounts to a duopoly, so they can in turn effectively dictate what gets installed on people's phones seems pretty awful?

Why not instead mandate the use of a more portable security and identification scheme for banks, health providers etc.?

I'm really interested in this VPN hysteria that's going on lately, that it will steal privacy and stuff.
Some time ago, because of security compromise, my company issued an security training, and we were with top-edge security professionals talking about what to do, or not. And one of the points, that I was surprised to learn, is that all of the experts were saying that VPN is ineffective and unnecessary. It creates the illusion of safety. But it's a business model.

To all the #Government[s] of the world: You subject us to lofty ideals like #DataLocalization and invasive surveillance like #ChatControl in the pretense of #privacy, #security and #LawEnforcement. Why then do you forcefully enroll us into this crooked global #Surveillance net that's not in either of our interests? That's a betrayal of your entire nation! We need iron fisted #regulations and heavy monetary #penalties against such #aggressive and #abusive #cabals instead. [4/6]

@hpod16 @EUCommission For some inexplicable reason, the #eucommission has made a point of almost never doing EXACTLY WHAT I WANT. I really do not understand it.
#irony

Nevertheless, I would like to say thank you very much for doing so today!

You are incidently also making a fool (and rightly so)of my current national government, which still very much klings to their X accounts like it's their confort-blanket.
