Big Lonely Doug - one of the biggest #DouglasFir #trees in the world. Found along the Pacific Circle Route, between #PortRenfrew & Lake #Cowichan - in the Gordon River valley range. It's surrounded by clearcuts. You can't miss seeing it because it stands out, amongst the ecocide.

People seem to realize that colonizing space with sentient robots and repurposing all organic material in the known universe--as is the stated dream of many of these psychotic tech bros--is a really bad idea.

So how come they don't also realize that doing the same to this planet is a similarly awful idea? This, at least, is my thought every time I see people gloomy about slowing manufacturing forecasts.
