I didn't mention it but before leaving for Germany, I assembled the rest of the Spearhead Fire and Jade box (another wall, and two scatter pieces), as well as added the base coat on the skin of two murder ladies. I even fixed Broken Foot again.
I'm on my way to the in-laws, so I don't know when I'll have time, but I took my Reaper paint case and my dryads, to be ready for it.

I did some base coats tonight. As usual, I was super slow, but some things got done at least.
More was planned but the foot of that mini broke again, and several branches of the tree decided to imitate it.

Got thoroughly trounced in 3 players Warcry game. I ended up with 3 points, the first player had 10, and the second 8.

One murder musician coming up. I think I'm getting there for the skin. I believe I have too many steps, I can probably eliminate the two darkest shadows.
I'll try some variations on further murder ladies.

New day, new murder girl. It went a bit better than yesterday, until I reached the lighter colors. I think it's the lesser quality of the paint, but it might be the jump is too high, even with the extra steps.
I also added a wash on yesterday's model which I felt worked ok.
Lastly I tried to take better pictures which led to smaller pictures, not sure why or how

What am I doing wrong? Whenever I try to do thinner layers, I end up with pooling and tide marks, and even though I try to build up the layer, it still doesn't look smooth. At this point I'm about ready to give up on layering
