macOS, Nextcloud and GTD
My adventures with Emacs and Orgmode failed, and ultimately didn't serve my needs. I started considering proprietary alternatives to pure GNU/GPL solutions for my personal data management. The prospect of switching to proprietary software was daunting, but worked well in this case. Access to calendar, tasks and contact lists works well in a multi-platform, multi-user way.(2/2🧶)
I am trying to backup not just the app, but all associated data (save progress, configurations, source code, binaries, everything) Data on these apps goes all the way back to 2009 or earlier.
I want this Samsung Galaxy S20 FE (almost 6 years old now) to be my final Android device.
Am I doing this right? Is my data bundled inside the APK/APK+ files? Are they installable (in a virtual machine, sometime in the future)
Android has been one of the 3 major hurdles I still can't cross to degoogle my life (the other 2 being YouTube, and Golang (which seems to be used on so many programs I use) GMAIL is a 4th hurdle, but it is a lot smaller. A lot of the apps are Internet based, and won't run, but I still value their preservation.
