This is sad. I assume it’s covid and trauma since the data they started with was in 2013 and the rise began in 2016 (it’s not all from covid but 2016-2020 was traumatic for people who care about people and the planet.)

Sharp rise in memory and thinking problems among U.S. adults, study finds

A growing number of U.S. adults—particularly those under 40—are reporting serious challenges with memory, concentration and decision-making, according to a new study published in Neurology.

Medical Xpress

“Question  Is SARS-CoV-2 infection and/or severity associated with acceleration in changes in cognitive function among older adults after accounting for important prepandemic confounders, including genetic risk for cognitive decline?
Findings  In this cohort study of 3525 participants, cognitive function decreased more rapidly among participants hospitalized for a SARS-CoV-2 infection when compared with participants not infected with SARS-CoV-2. These findings were evident after robust multivariable adjustment for confounders.
Meaning  These findings suggest that avoiding severe SARS-CoV-2 infection could help preserve cognitive function among older adults.”

It must be brain damage. How did people get so profoundly stupid?

This person has been sick for 2 1/2 weeks, it spread from their ear down their neck into their shoulder and rather than go get medical care they’re going to overdose on ibuprofen until they turn septic and seek medical opinions from Reddit.

If it was Covid it’s probably not Covid anymore, but regardless, if you start out with Pain that spreads you need to do something about it.

I know this is going to sound ableist and like eugenics, but if you’re this fucking stupid please don’t breed because you won’t take care of your children and they will die a slow painful death.

“At a loss... Could this be Covid?

2.5 weeks ago I woke up with my ear feeling a bit full and weird no pain. Then this turned into tenderness and discomfort in the area under my ear, viscerally. Then that expanded to the front right side of my neck.
Recently getting into the inside of my right shoulder . . .”

Singh has completely lost my respect. Now he's telling the media that "Canadians are done with Trudeau." He's spreading misinformation! #covidbraindamage
I don’t remember an Olympics like this one. If you are watching more than the highlights you’ll know exactly what I mean. #CovidIsNotOver #WearAMask #covidbraindamage

You know those times when you’re driving and a car pulls out in front of you when there just isn’t a gap. It’s not hugely busy so you can brake hard and avoid a crash. Or you witness a near miss. Those things that used to happen, maybe once a year?

They happen almost every time I go out. No wonder car insurance has gone up. #nzcovid #covidbraindamage

Them: Get covid everyone, it’s fine🤡

Covid: literally decreasing your brain functions if it doesn’t murder you 🦠

Them: now... believe me this minority is out to get you, there’s no such thing as faxts [insert new conspiracy here]

...repeat until???

I actually find the facts kinda helpful 🙃

Brain changes: The lingering effects of COVID-19

SAN DIEGO, CA — More profoundly than previously believed, the virus that causes COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, can impact the brain for months after infection. The findings were presented at Neuroscience 2022, the annual meeting of the Society for Neuroscience and the world’s largest source of emerging news about brain science and health.
