Flood warnings downgraded in Comox Valley as rainfall eases
The river forecast centre says it has downgraded a flood warning for the Somass River to a high streamflow advisory, while ending warnings and advisories for the Courtenay, Tsolum River, Dove Creek and Englishman rivers.

Solidarity to union members and students facing cuts at North Island College. VIU and NIC have a friendly rivalry, but more importantly, we each serve as access-focused post-secondary institutions for portions of Vancouver Island north of Victoria.

The list of program suspensions is long. And unfortunately includes some skills in my field… but they are generally... broad cuts. I've included the list below.

The #BCNDP Government seems perfectly ok with post-secondary institutions in BC going through the worst cuts in at least 25 years (my career) and I would dare say - ever.
