Unfortunately, Eby also has the ability to just do it. And BC did not stop him from giving himself that power - in fact, Carney copied him.

The only tiny, slight, bit of humour is the realisation that **both** the #CPC and the #NDP enabled Carney and the #LPC in exactly the same way, at the same time, without coordination.

The #CPC and #NDP played the only cards they had. Abstain just enough to avoid triggering an election.
Baby PP couldn't possibly allow any Con votes but would also almost certainly lose even more seats in an election.
The NDP seems like they missed a memo and were waiting for the Libs to come knocking to get their votes. If they were paying attention to how Carney handles Trump, they'd know better. But they also can't risk an election after taking such a beating.
